Position Title: STEM Teacher K-8

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Principal/Assistant Principal

Position Description: Provide special area education STEM(Science, technology, engineering, coding and math) instruction to students in grades K-8.

Essential Functions: Plan and facilitate engaging technology/media lessons,plans and implements rich and innovative learning experiences and student projects appropriate for each grade level for grades K-8.

• Establishes effective instructional routines and positive classroom management systems for grades K-8.
• Fosters a positive,and safe learning environment for all students.
• Works collaboratively and proactively with all staff members.
• Plan and deliver standards based instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned.
• Collaborate and clearly communicate with other educators and parents.
• Implement the approved-course curriculum.
• Implement modifications in a student’s education plan as required.
• Consult with other school staff as necessary to complete the functions of the position.
• Utilize preventive discipline methodology with assigned students.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the Imagine Schools Six Measures of Excellence in the execution of duties.
• Participate in school taskforces.
• Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.
• Demonstrates strong knowledge in the area of technology and media.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal/School Leader.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Education: Bachelors degree in pertinent area.

· Licenses & Certifications: State certification and endorsement in assigned area.

· Experience: Pre-service experience required for certification.

· Knowledge, Ability & Skills: Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform independently and in groups. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask when necessary. Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles. Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes. Ability to remain pleasant and calm under sometimes-stressful circumstances. Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students and parents in a multi-cultural environment. Computer skills including word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphics.

IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Required

Teaching Certificate/STEM endorsement preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
